Meet my mom, Grace!

This video of my mom, Grace shows how hard she was trying to listen and communicate. I had said "Mom, I love you" and at first what she said didn't make sense so I said "Mom, I love you" again. She stopped, smiled and said "I love you too! Sometimes I can't think straight".

Sometimes people with Alzheimer's need us to repeat what we say and be patient with them. At the early stages they are often quite aware of what is going on and it scares them. Being a safe place and not judging their behaviour is very helpful to someone with Alzheimer's.
